I had a wonderful time with my family this Christmas. I'm very lucky to have such supportive and loving people in my life. I also got a classic C&D mug and a CDRR T-shirt, which was really appreciated. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone here!

Okay, I'll add my own wonderful countenance to this thread using my image from The 3D Printed Christmas Chip Figurine Saga.

..and here's a picture of me sporting a fedora from a thread on the other side.

I just wrapped up my 31st birthday party last night. While my birthday is actually in December, I've had it in January the last few years as it always fell on finals week while I was at college and the tradition stuck. We had a lot of fun with party games, table tennis, and a wonderful dinner.

So, guess what I did for a theme?

In a way, it was like the birthday party I wish I would have had when I was a child. I'm surrounded by a loving family and friends who've stuck by me all of these years. 2014 was a huge year for me, so it felt appropriate to honor the Rangers on my birthday as they've quite literally turned my life around. For a long time I've been embarrassed at how much of an impact they've had on me, but I felt that by being very open about my love of them it would help negate this and I believe it helped a lot. Honestly, part of me didn't want to put the RR logo on the cake, but I pushed past that and didn't want to hide what I love any longer. I'm glad I did that.

I guess I never realized how much the Rangers imprinted themselves upon me growing up. They were the only ones that taught me that I wasn't a failure. They were my friends, the ones that were always there to help. Kids don't care if someone physically exists or not, they were real to me. And after 20 years of burying this, they came back again to help me out and they're very real to me now. They're the best friends a guy could ever have, a true gift from God.

Good for you. Glad your friends and family seem supportive. My family would look at me like I was stupid and my friends would probably ridicule me relentlessly if I did some kind of CDRR themed thing as an adult.

Thanks! Yeah, that's what I feared too at first, but they know how important CDRR is to me.

My friend did joke that I held my 5th birthday party 26 years too late, but I can laugh about jokes like that when I know he isn't saying that to be mean.

Now, after eating the cake, did you pat you belly and say Rescue Rangers away?

Coming from someone who had Ninja Turtles, My Little Pony, Super Mario Bros, and Disney all over her wedding, there is nothing wrong with having a 5th or 9th or 12th birthday party as an adult. It's one of the perks of being a grown-up.

I imagine that happening as the toilet flushed...

    That's awesome!

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I am still in amazement at how strong social norms can be, even if you know they are stupid, so your words help me a lot.
