A What should be/could be Movie Question

You know with all of the children's/famliy books being made into features lately , the most recent being Curious Geroge, I've been wondering when the Berenstain Bears will ever get a movie and what would it be like (plot-wise, what new or old characters will be featured alongside the Bear Family, and what kind of music will used) for kids and family of all ages to enjoy at the theaters or at home (if direct to video).
And mostly who would release it (studio)

I'm curious about that, anyone have any ideas or suggestions of their own.

It would be horrible. Most likely a cross with 2D and CGI. It would probably go straight to video and be a sapfest full of morals. I loved the BB, don't get me wrong, but today, we really don't need them, dare I say. They should pick up the ball and deal with modern issues. How about brother and sister bear in the mid to late teens dealing with drugs, sex, and pressure to succeed.

Might sound a little over the top but really...

I didn't read much as a child, mainly Paul Jennings. And his stories were too short to be made into films. They made great TV shows though.

I suppose 'Two weeks with the Queen' would make a decent movie. You'd like that one Light, very angsty.

I would've said "PageMaster" but that's already been done, same for the BFG, Witches, Matilda.

For a direct to video, it would probably be in some kind of crappy CGI because no 2D animator who values their future would probably turn it down.

The bears aren't really IN anymore. Although it's been pretty nostalgic in our culture lately, I don't see these guys coming back for a movie though.
