Aren't parody and satire supposed to be protected? Their disclaimer and various other pages make it quite clear that while they can be offensive and downright abusive to the subjects of the articles found on the site, don't assume what you read is true. They even say that you should "expect blatant, biased lies, and expect boring truths to get deleted quickly." If they weren't allowed to get away with this, then, in all fairness, wouldn't you also have to send the Gestapo after Uncyclopedia and The Onion as well? While one may take things much further than the others, they're effectively doing the same thing.

Oh lawd, is I taking the interwebs seriously here?

Funny you should mention that. Because I intend to do both things.

Ian, the truth is that ED permits personal information to be posted. According to ED's wiki-software, the following pieces of text are already on ED for quite a while:

Update: I looked on WhitePages.com and there are separate listings for a pair of Thomas and Stacey Hunt couples in Eagle, ID (possibly the same people). The entries have the phone number listed as (XXX) XXXX-XXXX. Street Location is XXX X XXXXXX XX, XXXXX XX XXXXX-XXXX.
    (...)
Dr. Indy is really XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
The Acorn Cafe's domain server is XXXX
The only one left is Framwinkle, who's information I can't seem to get my hands on because he is using several security websites to hide his personal information. What is he hiding?
    (...)
If you want more proof, I can easily point you to more pages where ED patrons blatantly break their own rules.

One more thing: the fact that ED has a disclaimer hidden beneath several links does not justify the trolling that's going on. If that's true, I would be able to call you all sorts of names as long as I say I'm just kidding.

Yeah, posting personal informations like this is more than just fun... It's even more than fun going a bit far...
But then: I don't get the sort of fun where you want to hurt others anyway...

Fine then, find me Ray's dox somewhere on a current ED article. All that was ever there was an email address and the city he lives in... and that got removed because of the "no Pokemans" rule. Besides, that's tame and can be found on just about any site on which he is registered. If you know where to look you can get someone's Social; an email address is nothing.

Okay, I'll admit, those probably shouldn't be there. However, I'm a lazy git, so I'm not going to bother logging in just to remove the dox of someone who hates me. Also, PROTIP: I doubt the sysops would be so lenient if not for all the sock puppet accounts a few people there

had set up just to vandalise the articles in question. Acting all butthurt like that about something there only makes it worse in the long run.

Go right ahead. With my history, would I have even bothered showing up here if I thought everyone's opinion of me was that important?

My name is also on the ED just for 1 quote but I think that even if they do write even a whole article on me I just will sit back and let it happen.. The people that really do know me also know that that stuff is a bunch of BS and the whole reason that these ED people are even doing what they are doing is because they know that they will get a reaction out of us.

Granted, you got a point there.

Vandalizing those articles was indeed a bad move. But some people over "there" just don't have the same sense of humor as you.

It was just a hypothetical case. It would be juvenile if I'd call you names. Besides, I don't know a thing about you or your history.

...And I can recite every word of every episode of every series of Star Trek. I speak fluent Klingon and the closest I have ever come to seeing a real woman was the Seven of Nine sex doll I made several years ago. William Shatner and Patrick Stewart both have restraining orders against me and I made that kid who played Wesley Crusher cry on at least 17 separate occasions.
